Despite starting as a solo blog, our founder Ria realised it could be so much more than that.
Amidst the panic caused by a lack of information at the beginning of the pandemic in 2020, Ria invited her best friend, Kate to write about being a paramedic on the front lines of COVID-19..
From there developed Matriarch Community - a place for people to pitch and write their own blog posts. This mixture of lived experience, vulnerability, openness, and education proved popular and continues to this day.
Whether you want to write about the political climate, a piece of art or your experience of grief - we platform it all.
But we're not just bound to the internet. We bring our community together in person too! From themed events to chilled get togethers, community events are open to anyone seeking new connection, fresh perspective and a little more Matriarch.
